The New York Times just put out a wonderful write-up on Barack Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro. If you've got the time, I highly recommend you read this article about this fascinating, compassionate, open-minded woman. Even if you're not an Obama supporter, it's worth your time. I wish more human beings, myself included, could have even an ounce of the fearlessness and understanding of the world that she exhibited her whole life.

she's sort of awesome. it makes me sad that she's dead because for some reason i imagine all presidential candidates getting really tired and crabby and going home and crying on their mom's shoulder. at least, that's what i would do if i were running for president.
group therapy soon, please? mustard month is almost over!
